After careful consideration and numerous conversations with colleagues, we regret to announce that we have taken the decision to postpone ‘At The Edge Of The Sea XII’ until 12 & 13 August, 2022. Although venues in England will be permitted to open from 19 July, the requirement to self-isolate if contacted by ‘NHS Test And Trace’ will remain in place until 16 August, which is later than the date set for our event. Given the current exponential rise in COVID infections together with the high rate of infection already present here in Brighton, we feel that it would be prudent to postpone our event now rather than risk a last-minute cancellation because performers have been required to self-isolate. Several artists have already informed us that they are not able to appear at this year’s event and members of Cinerama and The Wedding Present are already currently self-isolating. We have not taken this decision lightly but feel that the health and safety of both performers and audience is paramount. While we appreciate that this decision will not be welcome and apologise for any inconvenience caused, we hope that you will understand the predicament that we find ourselves in. We are planning to replace the event with a free-to-watch online version, in the same way that we did last year. Tickets will, of course, be valid for 2022.
